Personal Gourmet fully cooked duck half plated with orange glaze and greens

Duck is the dinner most families only order when someone else is cooking it. Crispy skin, rich meat, and a restaurant plate that feels like a celebration — then you try to recreate it at home and remember why it stayed off the weeknight list. If you have been searching for duck delivery in Southern California, this guide covers the fully cooked duck halves we carry, how to reheat them so the skin crisps, and why in-person freezer delivery fits a cut you do not cook every week.

Note: We are not the Philadelphia “Personal Gourmet” brand you may see in national search results. This is Personal Gourmet, Inc., the family-owned SoCal in-person freezer-delivery company, in business since 2001.

What we deliver: fully cooked duck halves

Our duck halves fully cooked listing is exactly what it sounds like: half-ducks that arrive vacuum-sealed and frozen, already cooked, so your job is to thaw, crisp, and serve. That is a different lane from a raw whole bird. You skip the long roast, the rendered fat cleanup, and the guesswork about doneness. You still get duck skin that can snap when you finish it hot.

Duck sits on our poultry page alongside chicken and turkey cuts. Lineups change with supply, so your Personal Gourmet specialist will confirm what is available when you plan your order.

Who duck delivery is for

  • Date nights and birthdays at home. A glazed duck half with wild rice looks like a reservation without leaving the kitchen.
  • Guests who are tired of the same steak rotation. Duck is familiar enough to feel safe and different enough to feel special.
  • Busy cooks who still want a “wow” plate. Fully cooked means most of the work is already done; the oven or air fryer finishes it.
  • Freezer planners. Duck is occasional, not weekly. Sealed portions wait until the night you actually want them.

How to reheat fully cooked duck from your freezer

Thaw duck in the refrigerator overnight in its sealed pack. If you are short on time, thaw in cold water in the sealed pack and cook right away. Do not thaw on the counter. Our guide to how long frozen meat lasts covers freezer timing and thawing in more detail.

Conventional oven

Preheat to 375°F. Remove the duck from the bag, place it in a shallow baking pan, and bake about 15 to 20 minutes until heated through and the skin crisps.

Grill

Over medium heat, place the duck skin-side down on a rack for about 10 minutes, then turn and heat another 5 to 10 minutes until thoroughly heated.

Air fryer

Preheat to 390°F. Separate a half into portions so pieces do not overlap, air-fry about 12 minutes, then rest 1 to 2 minutes before serving.

Food safety

Because these halves are fully cooked, you are reheating to a hot serving temperature, not cooking raw poultry from scratch. Still use common sense: heat until steaming hot in the thickest part, and follow current federal guidance for leftover reheating. For raw poultry cuts elsewhere in our lineup, see the safe minimum internal temperatures chart and our meat preparation chart.

Serving ideas that make duck feel restaurant-ready

A simple glaze does most of the work. Warm cherry or orange jam with a splash of vinegar or citrus, brush it on in the last few minutes of heat, and finish with sautéed greens and wild rice or roasted potatoes. A sharp salad with bitter greens cuts the richness. You do not need a long sauce project — the meat already carries the flavor.

Why freezer delivery works well for duck

  • Occasional dinners stay ready. You are not forcing duck onto every week’s menu; you are stocking it for the nights it belongs.
  • Vacuum-sealed portions fight freezer burn. Air is what dries meat out. Sealed packs keep quality closer to the day it was packed.
  • No porch-box risk. Summer heat in Riverside or San Bernardino County is hard on a courier box. Our deliveries are hand-carried into your kitchen and loaded into your freezer with you.

Duck delivery FAQ

Does Personal Gourmet deliver duck?

Yes. We carry fully cooked duck halves, individually vacuum-sealed and delivered frozen in person across seven Southern California counties.

Is the duck raw or fully cooked?

Our duck halves are fully cooked. You thaw, reheat until hot and crisp, and serve. That is different from a raw whole bird that needs a long roast.

How should I thaw frozen duck halves?

Thaw in the refrigerator overnight, or in cold water in the sealed pack if you are short on time. Reheat duck thawed in cold water right away. Do not thaw on the counter.

Can I cook duck from frozen?

For best texture and even heating, thaw first, then crisp in the oven, on the grill, or in the air fryer using the times on the product listing.

How do I find out duck pricing?
